Military Wives
Mood:  irritated
Now Playing: "I'm Already There (With Messages From Home)"- Lonestar
Why do people rag on Military Wives? Being a military wife is the most honorable tihng i have ever done, and besides being a good mom, probably the most honorable thing I will ever do. I am so proud to be a military wife, yet there are those who rag on us. People dont realize what a sacrafice a military wife is. We dont get to decide what city we live in or where our children go to school. We are without our husbands for days, weeks, months, sometimes even years at a time. Then there are those women who marry military just for the glory and respect that comes with the title. Let me tell those women, there is no glory, the only respect we seem to get in this day and age is from other military wives, the benefits are good, but they are not great, the pay sucks. Still want to be a military wife, great! Welcome to our family, Its a long, hard journey to make it to retirement, when your husband becomes yours and yours only.
::New song "My Front Porch Looking In" Lonestar::
Let me tell you what you will encounter on the way to that golden day of retirement.
Moving (In the four years I have been married we have moved three times so far), apartments (Unless you are one of the lucky ones who get base housing, which comes with its own set of problems), sneers of your peers (non military wives who dont understand how and why we can put ourselves and our families through the life style, mostly from family) Not seeing your family for a year (While living in Alaska for three years, we left the state twice I think), Being alone (when he deploys, your heart goes with him) just to name a few.
Be prepaired to answer your three year old child when they ask "Where's Daddy?' in a way that wont scare him or her.
::New song "Something to be Proud Of" Montgomery Gentry::
Learn how to pack. Remember to set aside a pile of things that will be packed in the "Open first" box. Be ready to calm a nervous child becasue they have to transfer to a new school in the middle of the school year and this new school isnt on the base, so the other children are not used to new students who are new to the area. How about living in a different counrty? Be prepared. How about feeding a family of four on $20,000 a year? Clipping coupons will become a sunday tradition just as much as going to church is. Still want to be a military wife? Welcome to the family.
Being a military wife isnt for every woman, just like being in the military isnt for everyone. But people feel the need to comment on things they do not know or understand. We are told we dont deserve the same benefits out active duty husbands have, becasue we are not the ones out there risking our lives, so we dont deserve the commissary or bx. All i have to say to those people is "Haha"
::New song "I'm a Survivor" Reba McEntyre::
Why wouldnt we deservet eh benefits? Wives of civillians get their husband's health benefits right? So why shouldnt we? Becasue our benefits are better then other jobs? Oh well, thats not my problem.
Speaking of which, Joey and I both need new ID's. Our old ones still have his old rank, lol. Mine expires in December anyway, so maybe they will let me renew it now.
::New song "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia" Reba::
I guess I better get going, I need to finish the sauce for dinner tonight and I want to work on my book a little bit more.
Later!

North VS South
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: "Blame It On Mama"- The Jenkins
I always knew there were differences between living in the north and living in the south. The food is different, the people are friendlier in the south, attitudes are different. The most prevelant difference though is the way the races are viewed here.
Growing up in the north, racism isnt that out there, but here in the south, its like coulture shock. People are not afraid to show their prejudices. Joey said its like that all over the south. I couldnt believe it. How can you grow up like that? It is so ignorant. There really is no difference. A person is a person, white, black, yellow, or green, we are all the same on the inside.
::Change song, "Letters from Home" John Michael Montgomery::
People wonder why most of the low income families in th esouth are black. Its because thats how black people are treated here. I was shocked to hear Joey tell me that by the time he graduated high school, most of the black students dropped out! Whenever I say something to joey about the difference in how JJ behaves and another child his age who happens to be black, he says "Welcome to the south baby" like that is an excuse. But it is the truth. I don't know, I just cant believe the north and south are the same country sometimes.
::New song "Mr Mom" Lonestar::
I think I'm going to hook Joey up with a blog, lol. The baby finally took a nap, lol. He thinks he is grown.
My Grandfather is comming down to the air show at N.A.S. Oceania. He seems to think i dont feed JJ at all. He is obsessed with that, and his hearing @@ The boy can hear, he is 2, so he hears what he wants. You can put on Bob the Builder and he will be in the other room and come running to the tv, same thing happens if you turn it off on him, lol.
::New song "Unusually Unusual" Lonestar::
I think next pay day, if the truck is paid off, I am getting my tatoo. Joey doesnt want me to get one, but I want it. I think of it as a way to keep Caitlin with me at all times, ya know? The one my friend designed for me says "Katie Bear" with her dates and an angel Teddy bear in it! I love it, but I need to talk it over with Joey again, lol, he doesnt like this sort of thing.
Well, thats all on this topic, lol, Later!!

Game Play, Rappers, People in general.....
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: Bumper of My S.U.V.- Chelly Wright
Well, I was playin gmy game and got a server maintance message, someone probably spilled a soda on the control panel in th emain server building or something, lol, so Square Enix had to shut down Final Fantasy XI game play, so I can't finish playing my game @@.....
Why did Kayne West (or whatever his name is) feel the need to go on a political rant about Bush in the middle of a fundraiser telethon for the Hurricaine victims? Was that really the best time and place for that? Do that crap on your next cd, not during a live telethon to help others, dumb ass.
::Change song... "I Go Back" Kenny Chesney::
How soul-less can you be to turn something like that into a place to publically rant and rave about the president? But then again, this is America where we have the right to do so. Why doesnt he move to another country, like Iraq, and try to speak out against the leadsers there and then tell us this country isnt great. Augh.
::New song "I'd Be Better Off (In A Pine Box)" Doug Stone::
Joey sings this song so beautifully! Thats why I play it alot, because every time i do he sings, lol.
Well, thats all for now... Later!

PlayTime!
Mood:  energetic
Now Playing: "Arlington"- Trace Atkins
I think I'm going to take the baby to the mall to play. They have a really nice play area in th emall that he enjoys. Maybe I will get the stroller cover today. JJ needs a rain coat, too. Joey's parents might send us a few hundred bucks. One more month of scrimping, then the truck is paid off, lol.
I want to see if the movie soundtrack for rent is out yet. The blogs on the site said it is more of a rock album then the play soundtrack. I think my aunt and I are going to see it when the movie comes out in November.
Maybe I will treat JJ to lunch today. We are having chili mac for supper tonight. It will be nice to have actual food in the house again. We have been so broke lately. At least JJ has been able to eat. I don't care if I go to bed hungry, as long as he eats. He is the importaint one, I can stand to miss a few meals, lol, but he can't.
I did some work for Aunt P yesterday. Only took me five minutes so I dont feel right charging her for it. She is taking me to the commissary later this afternoon, even though gas is so expensive. So I wont charge her for the work.
::Change songs, "Help Somebody" Van Zant::
This song reminds me of my Grandfather. Not sure why, it just does, lol. As soon as JJ finishes his eggs, I am gonna get him dressed.
I cleaned my room the other day. Three hours, but it is done and I got about four loads of laundry out of it, lol. It is supposed to be hot today. Great, lol. I need to send my cell phone back to the company to get one that will work in this area. It is still th ephone from Alaska. Once I do that the company will give me thirty free minutes on the new one to make up for shipping costs.
::New song, "That's Something To Be Proud Of" Montgomery Gentry::
JJ is still obsessed with Bob The Builder. It keeps him quiet. He will run around while the dvd is on and play his trucks, so its not like th edvd acts as a babysitter.
Caitlin's birthday is coming up. Not sure how I am going to celebrate this year. I may talk to JJ about his big sister. I think he is still too young to understand. I am going to get my Caitlin tatoo soon! There are days when I miss her more then anything else, but there are days I barely think about her, and I feel guilty about that. I still can't believe it has been three years since everythign happened. It seems so nonsensical that God would take someone that young who never did anythign away from us. Well, I'm gonna get going now. JJ needs me

Hurricaine Katrina....
Mood:  irritated
Hurricaine Katrina has hit.Total destruction in some places. The news station here has raised over $100,000 so far to help victims. I wish I could help. I wonder though...... Where are the French? The Brittish? The Spaniards? The UN? Susan Sarandon? Jane Fonda? Madonna? All thoise who claim to be either our allies or our countrymen? The ones who jumped to help the tsunami victims last year? Where is our aid? Our gas prices are up, and they dont look like they will go back down any time soon. No other country has come to our aid, not even in the search and rescue! So sad.
There is a benefit concert to help those who were effected. As of right now the only ones on tap to perform are country singers. I'll watch it. Oh, and Harry Conick Jr, too. I have gained new respect for him because of how quickly he has started to help. He has family in the area that was hit.
They think thousands are dead! Someone shot at a military hellicopter during the evacutaion of the superdome, where they have puit those who couldnt get out of new orleans in time. Probably an anti war protester, once again the liberal left strikes at the worst times.
Presdient Bush has vowed to assist in rebuilding the communities that have been wiped out. Where are Clinton and Bush Sr? They were so outspoken in asking us to help the tsunami victims, where are they now when we need the aid? where is the UN?
Total Devistation! OK the concert is tomorrow at 8pm, so I will watch it, lol. Thats all for now.
